About Us

As the Survivor and Hero of my own story, I encourage other Survivors to be heard in the legislative process and beyond, to be the adult that they needed in their lives. As a registered nurse, I advocate for the safety and health of all.

In 2016, I went public about my sexual assault. I hoped that by fully exposing myself, my name and the gruesome details of what happened, the laws would change in New York. What I saw instead was how powerful the PR and Lobbying Machine of the opposition was. The Roman Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Insurance Company Lobbyists would blanket the news with False narratives and away from the Truth about consent and adults who violated children’s Trust and abused their Power. They didn’t talk about the other adults who would cover up the abuse and Gaslight the children, their families, their Communities, over the entire world. I saw survivors retreat and suffer as a result of these methods to cover up abuse. The good trying to be done was vanquished by the ability of Money and Power to snuff out resistance efforts.

In 2018, I bought billboards calling attention to my own sexual abuse and advocated for New York laws to protect victims of child sexual abuse. When the New York State’s ethics commission, JCOPE, tried to silence me, I bought even more billboards and I began to give ad space away to amplify the voices of other survivors of different sufferings. Thanks to other brave survivors and I publicly telling our stories, the Child Victims Act passed in 2019. As of January 2020, over 1500 legal claim have been filed in the courts.

Today, I’m taking my activism into the empathy art space. I’m the producer and director of Enlightenment Machine No. 1, the first in a series of theatrical vignettes that’s part street performance, part protest. The first performance in the series focuses on how a survivor heals from their trauma and how the media and close people in their lives can better advocate for them.

The seed of the performance grew out of a poem I wrote several years ago. Writing the poem allowed me to safely connect me with my pain as an observer. I was able to wander beyond my anger without re-traumatizing me. I also saw my experience from a different perspective and eventually turned it into this performance.

In times like these…

Whether my fight is in the activism or art world, I continually listen to the voices of healers calling me back. They have been tending the land with love and support and yet, the new growth curls backwards, turns dark, and retreats. It is struggling to survive. In these times, I must return to my heart, to my center, to my home and help care for the new growth. As I see it, goodness can use my energy to fight for victory, and so I push myself to exhaustion. In my dreams, I see wars to be fought to defend goodness from cruelty that would cause great suffering. I’m working to end this suffering through the rise of Survivors. This can only be done by speaking up and gathering a sacred group of Helpers to fight the fight. I have created a sacred space. Join us and allow the legends of survivors to guide the future for what I call the #SurvivorOvation.

Legend says, the feather of the great Phoenix will drift into the lives of those worthy of defending goodness. It will allow them to grow wings to transcend and defeat the darkness. We who beam the light are made stronger by Love, Unity, Wisdom and Compassion. The call of the Phoenix can be heard where there is great harm done and justice and healing are needed. With just one fire feather all can be made anew.
