On December 20, 2019, the Manager of the South Albany Airport grounded my JCOPE banner from flight. The manager stated that he had “gotten heat” from the NY State Police and could not risk allowing our plane to fly. He stated that if he allowed my “political message” that Governor Cuomo would not refuel his helicopter or fly out of his airport. NY State Police report directly to Governor Cuomo and JCOPE cannot utilize them in this way for investigations.
This is a link to the audio recording of a phone call with a Captain of the NYSP Aviation Division confirming that his “former boss” (whom we believe is Major Brent Gillam) “inquired with the S. Albany Airport Manager about a banner tow and any future banner tows”.
This is a violation of NY and Federal Laws.
