As the United States responds to COVID-19,

#2NYBillboards in Albany, NY

3.14.20-3.27.20

To reduce the burden on ERs and Emergency Medical Services, New York needs to educate the public on WHEN to take WHAT actions to keep themselves and everyone else safe during our COVID-19 Coronavirus National Emergency.

Addressing these basic concerns and questions WILL help guide people through this time and reduce public fear and anxiety.

*Directions to see #2NYBillboards: Off of I-787 Exit 4A Colonie Street. Parking at the bottom of the ramp at Corning Boat Launch. Board is visible from there with safe access for a live shot. Can be accessed off of Broadway and Albany

Important Concept Called “Bedside Manner”

There is a concept in medical care called “Bedside Manner”; or a way to have discussions with patients so they trust information, understand, and can ask questions and get answers.

Conjecture and inconsistent messaging are BAD Bedside Manner techniques and cause Anxiety and Fear in patients. Making jokes when people are scared does not make them feel better IF they are confused about what they should do.

As an RN, I have identified non-therapeutic communication creates fear and anxiety.

I ask that all leadership consider the emotional and psych-social needs of the public when delivering vital information and please, answer the questions on my billboards so that we are all confident that we know the right answers.
